The European Food Safety Agency recognises the relationship between vitamin D and bone, muscle, reproductive, immune and cellular health; plus inflammatory response. Vitamin D’s benefits include calcium and phosphorus metabolism, immune competence, blood sugar metabolism, cardiovascular health, and healthy brain/mood. The rate of hip fractures related to poor bone mineralisation is about seven times higher in northern Europe than southern Europe, due to their relative amounts of sunlight exposure. Non-bone benefits require higher than minimal levels, while higher rates of certain medical issues are associated with low levels of vitamin D. Vitamin D-3 can be used to safely support optimal health.

The Innate Immune System is the Key to Infection Control, Allergy and Cancer - Professor Paul Clayton

This session will document the dietary shift involved, demonstrate the mechanism of action of the CR-3 receptor and its agonists, and summarise the ongoing pre-clinical and clinical research programmes.
