London’s Olympia was transformed into a vibrant showcase of the very best in complementary and natural healthcare last weekend, as camexpo celebrated its 13th edition on 26-27 September.
Show highlights included the announcement of the winners of camexpo’s three prestigious annual awards: Best New CAM Product Award; camexpo Clinic of the Year Award; and camexpo Outstanding Achievement Award.
camexpo – the UK’s leading complementary, natural and integrative health show for practitioners, therapists, CAM students, healthcare professionals, pharmacies, and health store retailers – opens at Olympia Central on Saturday 26 September.
The two day show will combine a 200-strong trade exhibition – showcasing everything from VMS and natural beauty to essential business services and supplies, and training schools and colleges, with a packed programme of Keynotes, seminars and workshops.

Ahead of the session, show organisers Diversified Communications UK has launched a new survey inviting its visitors to share their views and formulate questions for the panel.
According to the latest figures, as many as one in three cancer patients have tried complementary therapies alongside standard cancer treatments. Unfortunately, given the growing prevalence of cancer today, that translates to thousands of people in the UK every year looking for help (not to cure or prevent but) to better cope with some of the stress, symptoms and side effects they may be experiencing with their illness and its treatment.
‘The C Word – your questions answered’, developed in association with cancer charity Yes to Life, will feature panelists from across the CAM community. The Q&A session will include examples of the panelists’ experiences of supporting people with cancer and the different complementary approaches available. Topics will cover: working with integrative doctors and oncologists, legal regulations and ethical responsibilities, appropriate training courses, the role of exercise and nutrition, and more.
The new line-up, featuring leading nutritional experts like Dr Marilyn Glenville, Miguel Toribio-Mateas, Dr Alex Richardson and Dr John Ogden, includes 17 CPD-accredited sessions running throughout the weekend of 26-27 September, at London’s Olympia.
According to the World Health Organisation’s website ‘good nutrition…is the cornerstone of good health’. Research linking eating well with good mental and physical health is well documented, and ever expanding. Yet despite much media coverage over the years, there are still concerns over the lack of detailed public knowledge; whilst BAPENS’ Nutrition Screening Week (NSW) Reports last year suggested that nutritional support services in many of the UK’s primary care units also had room for improvement[1].
By comparison, it’s a subject that many complementary and integrated health practitioners are already well-versed, with nearly 40% of camexpo’s 4,000+ attendees citing ‘diet and nutrition’ as their main business sector. And although this is the first year that it gets its own camexpo theatre, nutrition has been the topic of countless Keynotes, demos and workshops since the show launched in 2002.
