Maximum Permitted Levels for vitamins and the UK’s ability to “retain sovereignty over key policy areas like health” will be major areas of focus for Consumers for Health Choice in 2016.

CHC’s latest quarterly newsletter sets out the activity taken by CHC so far this year and outlines the future activity it will take to champion the rights of consumers to have continued free access to vitamin and mineral supplements of their choice.

The latest edition of the newsletter looks back at the CHC Parliamentary reception which took place at the end of last year and outlines the follow-up action that MPs supportive of CHC took after the reception to raise awareness of the strength of opposition to the setting of maximum permitted levels in vitamins and supplements.

CHC also outlines the next steps that it will take, including “emphasising to the Government in the lead up to the EU referendum the importance that CHC supporters place on retaining sovereignty over key policy areas like health and capitalising on every opportunity to promote the protection of consumer rights when the European Commission publishes the results of its Fitness Check on the General Food Law Regulation this spring.”
